Sir Geoffrey Sobul
Executive Creative Director
The Man: The creative mind behind Cobalt. A child of the '60s,
he still thinks the Moby Grape was the most underrated band ever.
In 1992, he published a book with Stuart Madow on Beatles psychedelic
music called "The Colour of Your Dreams". ("Heavy research, man. Heavy.")
He's just a good, mellow dude. Burned all his neckties. Plays guitar
(poorly) and sings like a howling wolf. Not the blues legend; the one
with its paw stuck in a trap. Still waiting for the Rogaine to kick in.
Goal: To do great work and win a buttload of awards in the process.
Admires: David Ogilvy ("The guy thought it was groovy to go out at
lunch and get bent to help the creative process. Dig that!")
Favorite Quote: "This isn't really a quote, but when we
were doing our book tour, we're talking to these wankers, Jones
and Jelvis ('That's Elvis with a J!'), and one of them gets to
talking about the Beatles' Shea Stadium concert in '66. So he
asks us if we went. Well, I look at Stuart, dumbfounded, because
we were both born in '63, which these guys had to have known. So
I just said: 'No, me mum wouldn't let me go.' And then I'm thinking,
'What's he on? And how do I get some?'"
Stress Relief: Uh, I'd rather not answer that.
Don't know who's reading this.
Dream Car: Old Beetle? New Beetle? Old Beetle? New Beetle? Damn!
