Cobalt has car named after it
March 1, 2005
Oakland, Calif. - Cobalt Creative is pleased to announce that the Chevrolet Division of the General Motors Corporation has honored the agency by naming one of the company's newest cars after it. Chevrolet introduced the Cobalt for the 2005 model year.
"I have to say it is an unusual honor for us," notes Cobalt Creative CEO J. Arthur Sobul, "especially since we've perform- ed no work for Chevrolet or General Motors. I guess they simply recognized our greatness."
Ads introducing the Cobalt portrayed it as a younger "sibling" to the successful, long-standing Corvette model. "I thought the ads gave the Cobalt a bit of cheekiness, which I liked," J. Arthur continues, "but I would've liked it better if they had simply renamed the Corvette after us. Or at least created a limited edition Corvette Cobalt. That would've been nice. Besides that, I can't for the life of me figure out why the Cobalt car featured in the ad was red. Cobalt is blue. What were they thinking?"
Despite this rare honor, Cobalt Creative does not expect to be driving a fleet of the new Cobalts, "unless Chevy wants to give us some," J. Arthur adds. "Still, it was good of them to name the car after my company. Thanks."
Cobalt Creative - which operates as a virtual advertising and marketing agency providing copywriting and related services - was established Labor Day weekend, 1997, in Kansas City, MO. The company moved to the Bay area around Independence Day, 1999. To learn more about Cobalt Creative and figure out who all these people are, please visit www.cobaltcreative.net.
